Seven Orifices, also known as Messou Mo Nai, is an ongoing Japanese drama series that is out on Netflix. It's a sci-fi drama, which is totally my type. Japanese sci-fi series are extremely interesting, such as Alice in the Borderland. Even though only one episode has been released, the drama didn't fail to amaze me with its storyline. It also gave me Alice in Wonderland vibes.

Seven Orifices depicts the story of eight individuals and their past before entering the mysterious holes present all over Japan. It's been a long time since the orifices, or mysterious holes, appeared in Japan. The holes are not set in one place; instead, they are disturbed on a random basis.

When one hole is in the middle of the road, on the other hand, the next hole is in the sea. The holes are disturbed randomly, without any pattern. The first episode focuses on one of the main characters, named Kawabata. Basically, the drama is about a man named Ozawa and his followers. Ozawa worships the holes as God, and he believes that entering the hole will lead him to salvation.

As this is what Ozawa believes, he manages to get people to follow him too. Eight people gather in a beautiful and aesthetic resort and plan to share their lives and pasts before entering the hole. One by one, the individuals share their stories and why they want to enter the hole.

In the first episode, Kawabata shares his life story and what happened in his past. I loved the character of Kawabata, as it is played by one of my favorite actors, Nakagawa Taishi. The portrayal of the character Kawabata has been done so well by Taishi.

Kawabata sits and starts to share his life story with his fellows, who are also in the process of entering the holes. Kawabata is a normal yet abnormal kind of person who has been bullied and not treated fairly since his school days. He believed that soccer was his favorite game and that he was good at it unless he got an earful of being a poor player at it.

Later, two of his friends started to play with him, catching balls, but soon they also lost interest in interacting with him. Later, Kawabata joined college, and he started dating a girl. But, unfortunately, he didn't get enough love and fair treatment from his girlfriend. Kawabata finds it very annoying when he keeps on waiting for his girlfriend and she is always late for their dates.

But the main issue with Kawabata is that he can never get angry. Kawabata is not a quick person when it comes to his emotions. He doesn't get angry at all, so slowly, he learns to get angry and portray his emotions by practicing facial expressions.

One day, an argument started between him and his girlfriend, and the level of anger started to increase. This made him realize that his angry emotions were growing, which led to the breakup of the couple. Kawabata also shared in his story that both of his parents entered the hole, and he is the only one left. After sharing a story, he went into the hole.

The story is very interesting, even though only one episode has been released so far. I am very curious about what will happen next and what these holes actually are. The story is slowly building as only one episode has been released, but I have a feeling that this drama is going to be very interesting in the upcoming episodes. If you are looking for a sci-fi drama, then give it a try.
