Netflix has revealed a new full-length trailer for the Arabic-language series, The Exchange. The first original series from Kuwait, Th Exchange will release on February 8 on Netflix, worldwide.

The series follows two trailblazing women as they pioneer the cutthroat Stock Market and disrupt the corrupt boys club on their way to the top. 'The Exchange' takes the audience to the golden 1980s, when the stock market was thriving and fashion was bigger and brighter than ever.

Farida is a recently divorced mother on a mission to prove she can support her daughter. Farida, a devoted housewife who has been out of work for the past 13 years, decides to become self-sufficient and joins her cousin Munira to become the first woman on the Kuwaiti Stock Exchange. Munira works at the Kuwait Stock Exchange as a Clerk for the Bank of Tomorrow's Trading Division. She is an independent, smart, and sassy woman who is passionate about her career and gaining independence in her new position. Together, Farida and Munira face obstacles as they break through the glass ceiling of the male-dominated financial market, embarking on a journey of sisterhood, perseverance, ambition, and strength.

Created and written by Nadia Ahmad, Anne Sobel, and Adam Sobel, ‘The Exchange’ is inspired by true events, bringing the exceptional and untold women-centric story of Farida and Munira to screens across the world with a star-studded cast of Kuwaiti talent, including Rawan Mahdi, Mona Hussain, Mohammed Al Mansour, Faisal Alamiri and Hussain Almahdi. The series is produced by Abdullah Boushahri and directed by Jasem AlMuhanna and Karim El Shenawy.

I grew up in Kuwait, surrounded by empowered women who were pioneering industries, especially in finance,” said creator Nadia Ahmad. “They demanded to be heard and succeeded, breaking into the workforce and blazing new tracks for future generations. ‘The Exchange’ is my love letter to them, bringing an amalgamation of them to life in Farida and Munira in a new and exciting way.”

Anne and Adam Sobel said, “The Exchange is a labor of love, the result of years of collaboration and hard work as we researched the 80s to build the visceral world in an accurate way. From interviews with historians and people who lived through these experiences to polishing the plotlines, The Exchange was a creative rollercoaster and we are so excited to see it launch on Netflix.”
